Baseball Commissioner has an easy to use default setup, but also offers the most comprehensive league management service on the web. These are only a few of the incredible features that everyone in your league gets when you sign your league up:
- Private League Website - Each league has its own website where each owner in your league can come to check scores, set lineups, scout players, check stats, make transactions, talk trash, post news stories, and much much more! Commissioners can name their league anything they want and even upload a league logo visible to all league members. The sites are available all year round, and maintain a league history of previous years' standings, points, schedule, transaction reports, message board postings, news item postings, polls, and other various statistical achievements.
- Complete Customization - It's your league, you should be able to set it up anyway you want to. With CBSSports.com Baseball Commissioner, you have complete control over every aspect of the league:
- Scoring - Over 100 scoring categories to choose from for use with Rotisserie, Head-to-Head, or Total Points style play. There are also several ways to play Head-to-Head. You can either play in weekly points-based matchups or use one of the category-based methods where either the person who wins the most categories gets a win, or each category is worth a win. You can even weight certain categories higher to increase strategy. Plus, you can create your own custom scoring categories. There are no limits to what you can do with our scoring setup options.
- Transactions - Take control over how the owners in your league conduct transactions:
- Lineups - Lineups can take effect daily or weekly
- Add/Drops - Use a Waivers process, Our unique Free Agent Bidding system, Free for All, or have the commissioner approve all add/drops
- Trades - Use a Trade Voting process, Free Trading, or have the commissioner approve all trades
- Draft - We offer every way to draft your league. We even offer auction-style drafts this year. Our state-of-the-art draft room allows you to have owners, each from their own location, come and participate in a live draft. You can set the draft order randomly or set a pre-determined order. It can even be a custom order for each round. You decide the number of rounds. It can be a "snaking" or "non-snaking" draft. If nobody has the time to do a live draft, you can each rank your players and have the draft room run an automated draft according to each owner's rankings. If you are all getting together for a draft in person, the commissioner can enter each owners pick as the draft moves on. Or, you can hold your draft offline and just enter the results when your draft is finished.
- Player Pool - Select to use AL-only, NL-only, Mixed (Both AL and NL) or even create your own custom player pool by selecting only the MLB teams you'd like to play with.
- Positions - Do you use Starting and Relief Pitchers or just Pitchers? Do you use Left, Center, and Right Field or just Outfield? Do you use Middle Infielders and Corner Infielders? DH? Utility positions? No matter which positions you use in your league, we support it. Plus, you can set your own eligibility rules for both position players and pitchers.
- Roster Limits - You have control over how many players each team needs to start each week, how many players can be on the bench, how many of each position each team needs to have, injured players, minor leaguers, etc.
- Scheduling and Scoring Periods - Playing in a Head-to-Head league? Our site will randomize a schedule for your league to play. You can set one matchup per week or have each team participate in multiple matchups. As commissioner you can edit our schedule or customize your own. You can set Weekly, Bi-Weekly, or Monthly scoring periods. You can even decide on which day of the week your scoring periods begin.
- Live Scoring - When MLB games are in progress, you'll be able to follow your team's fantasy scoring LIVE. Our lightning fast live scoring will show you which of your players is at bat, on deck, and in the hole. It will show you what the score of the game is, who is on base, and how many outs. Your Head-to-Head match-up and your Rotisserie league standings will all update LIVE.
- News, analysis and expert advice - You'll have access to the latest player news, injury reports, rumors and developments from around the majors to help you make informed roster decisions and player moves.
